Weenie Roast

One of my favorite things to do during summer time is drive up the canyon and have a good old fashioned weenie roast. We started roasting our hot dogs and then realized that I had forgotten the hot dog buns!! Who wants to eat a hot dog without a bun? So my sister in law Heather was nice enough to run down to moms house and grab them. In the mean time we had yummy snacks, like snickerdoodles, and chocolate chip cookies that Jenn and Amber made. My niece Katelyn chose a chocolate chip cookie. She took about two bites and told her mom that it was hurting her tongue. It was so weird but we didn't think too much about it, until a few minutes later and she was still complaining about her mouth hurting. We look at her closer and her upper lip was swollen! Within minutes her entire face was swollen and she had hives everywhere! Thankfully Uncle Dr. was there and he knew what to do. Ryan went and got her some Benedryl and eventually it started to kick in and the swelling went down. She was a pretty sad little girl for a while though. That is now 2 grandkids and counting with severe nut allergies! Other than Kate, a good time was had by all!
